Total Joint Replacement Rehab

Physical therapy can lead to faster recovery after total joint replacement through pre-op and post-op rehabilitation.

What is total joint replacement rehab?

Before and after your total joint replacement (arthroplasty), physical therapy can lead to a faster recovery.

Is total joint replacement rehab the proper treatment?

Before total joint replacement surgery
Before receiving your joint replacement, even one physical therapy visit can lead to a faster recovery. During this visit, you will learn how to perform appropriate exercises after surgery and tips for completing basic activities, such as getting out of bed, walking up and down steps, and how to use an assistive device (i.e., a walker). You will also learn exercises to perform before surgery to get the muscles as strong as possible and improve flexibility.

After total joint replacement surgery
After your total joint replacement surgery, we will develop an outpatient physical therapy program to restore your motion, strength, and function quickly.
